THE MINIS ARE COMING - August 31st If you are looking for something to do on Independence Day, Granville Beach is the place to be on August 31st. We got rid of the British but we do love their cars and in the age of scarce gas supplies, driving a Mini makes a statement. TriniMini, Trinidad's own club of Mini Owners is planning a drive-in, starting at Aranjuez Junction and ending in the beautiful Cedros Peninsula with a full blown Trini (Mini) Beach Lime at the Granville Beach Resort. If you are not aware of it, the Mini has been a truly revolutionary car that shaped how today's cars are being built. The first car with a sideways mounted (transverse) engine, one of the first front wheel drive cars and the only car with the center of gravity below the road which made these little machines very successful in the racing world, winning two Monte Carlo Rally trophies by beating cars with much more horsepower and prestigious names like Porsche and Alpha Romeo.
